<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle periphery monitoring device which properly judges whether or not it is necessary to display an image taken of a vehicle periphery, and can display the image which is subjected to processing suitable for driving conditions of a vehicle and peripheral conditions, when an image taking means is mounted on the vehicle, and the peripheral image is taken and displayed on an in-car displaying means. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle periphery monitoring device obtains conditions of a speed sensor 61, and a shift lever 62, etc., as driving information with regard to the drive of the vehicle, and judges whether or not the vehicle is driving or stopping. The vehicle periphery monitoring device obtains the image of the vehicle periphery taken from an image taking part 5, and judges the peripheral conditions of the vehicle depending on the image. A CPU 35 of an ECU 3 judges whether or not the image is displayed on the display 2 in view of not only the driving conditions but the peripheral conditions. When the image is taken, an image processing part 31 processes the image according to the driving conditions and the peripheral conditions, and displays the image after processing on the display 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
