PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital still camera in which diopter of an EVF is surely adjusted without forcing a user to a complicated operation when the diopter is adjusted. SOLUTION: This imaging apparatus is constituted by providing: a first display means for displaying an image and a subject under monitoring; a second display means having display area larger than that of the first display means; a display state switching means for switching the first and second display means so that one becomes a display state and the other becomes a non-display state; a diopter adjustment means for adjusting the diopter of the first display means; a storage means for storing image data for diopter adjustment; a detection means for detecting that the diopter adjustment of the first display means is performed and a display control means for reading the image data for the diopter adjustment from the storage means to be displayed on the first display means.
