The present invention relates to a cosmetic and/or dermatological self-tanning composition containing reduced dihydroxyacetone (DHA) content and that uses the synergistic tanning effect of the combined use of DHA and mineral oil in obtaining an even tan, without stains and without producing skin dryness. The composition exhibits an improved stability by virtue of the lower DHA concentration and, through combination of specific components present in its composition, provides skin hydration together with self-tanning.
