<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side airbag device using comparatively high rigidity at a rear part of an occupant as occupant crash protection by a side airbag. <P>SOLUTION: The side airbag device 10 includes a high pressure bag 11 and a low pressure bag 12 having internal pressures different from each other. The high pressure bag 11 is provided at a position on the rear part Dr side of the occupant D in a completely deployed state, and the low pressure bag 12 is provided at a position on a front part Df side of the occupant D in a completely deployed state. The high pressure bag 11 has a larger vertical dimension than the low pressure bag 12. The high pressure bag 11 extends from a side portion of a shoulder blade Du of the occupant D to a side portion of a hip D1. The high pressure bag 11 is provided further on the occupant D side than the low pressure bag 12 or on a door trim side.
