The overvoltage conductor (1) has two end electrodes (2,3) and a stack (4) of multiple varistor blocks. The stack is successively arranged between the two electrodes in the axial direction of the varistor blocks. An axial contact pressure is provided between the varistor block and the electrodes. A clamping element surrounds the stack from the varistor block and the electrodes in an axial manner.
