FLAME-RETARDANT POLYESTER FIBER, FLAME-RETARDANT MATERIAL USING THE SAME, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING FLAME-RETARDANT POLYESTER FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flame-retardant polyester fiber mixed with ammonium polyphosphate as a flame retardant. SOLUTION: The flame-retardant polyester fiber is obtained by using a polyester resin composition containing 0.1-10 mass% of an ammonium polyphosphate and 99.9-90 mass% of a thermoplastic polyester resin. The flame-retardant polyester fiber may be further mixed with a colorant such as carbon black, etc. The resin composition is melted and mixed to give a flame-retardant fiber having an excellent mechanical strength and a flame-retardant material. Especially when a waste polyester is used as the polyester resin, the waste material contributes to material recycling. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
