A method for the assessment of the inhibitory activity of an antibody for inhibiting the binding of IGF-1 and/or IGF-2 to IGF-1R in a lysed PBL sampl e of a mammal which has been treated with said antibody, characterized in th at the IGF-1R protein level of said PBLs is measured as a measure for the in hibitory activity of said antibody.
