PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet spinning apparatus which can control the flow of a coagulating liquid to uniformize the concentration and temperature of the coagulating liquid in a spinning bath to produce fibers having good qualities and can uniformize the flow of the coagulating liquid to spin the fibers at a high speed, and to provide a wet spinning method. SOLUTION: In the wet spinning apparatus, coagulating liquid-jetting openings 4a, 4b are disposed so that the extruded coagulating liquid C does not collide with the back side of the nozzle 5, two straightening plates 14a, 14b extended from one end to the other end in the spinning bath 2 are divided into an inner bath 23 in the spinning bath 2 and outer bathes 24 on both sides, an opening portion 25 is formed at a part formed in a yarn-traveling portion 2b, the center of the extrusion face of the nozzle 5 and a coagulated yarn-winding face 30 are disposed at the vertical center of the liquid depth of the spinning bath 2, and a distance L2 from the upper end of the nozzle 5 to a liquid level CU and a distance L3 from the lower end of the nozzle 5 to the bottom level CB are set to 10 to 40 mm, respectively.
