PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface hardened component in which all of a rolling fatigue life, impact resistance and delayed fracture resistance can be satisfied. SOLUTION: Steel comprising 0.10 to 0.4% C,≤2% Si,≤2% Mn,≤0.03% P,≤0.1% S,≤0.1% Al,≤0.03% (excluding 0%) N and≤0.003% (excluding 0%) O and worked into a component shape is treated in the order of a carbon infiltration-diffusion stage (carbon potential: 0.9 to 1.3, temperature: A<SB>cm</SB>point or higher, and cooling rate: the rate higher than that in gas cooling), a cementite precipitation stage (heating: high frequency heating, temperature: austenite-cementite two phase region, holding time: 1 to 30 sec, and cooling rate: the rate higher than that in oil cooling), and a tempering stage.
