Plunger-Cylinder Assembly

Disclosed is a plunger-cylinder assembly for a press, comprising a plunger ( 5 ) which is accommodated at least in part in a cylinder ( 1 ) while separating the interior ( 10 ) of the cylinder into two partial chambers ( 10.1, 10.2 ) along the cylinder axis (X). A relieving device which counteracts an increase in pressure of a fluid accommodated in the first partial chamber ( 10.1 ) is disposed in at least one first partial chamber ( 10.1 ), said increase in pressure being caused by a movement of the plunger ( 5 ) along the cylinder axis (X) in the direction of the first partial chamber. Also disclosed is a hydraulic press encompassing such a plunger-cylinder assembly.
