The invention relates to a flat link chain (1) from a plurality of link plates(2, 2') which form respective stacks of link plates (8, 8') which are connected to respective adjacent stacks of link plates by means of a joint (4, 5, 5', 11). At least a part of the link plates comprises a stop (13, 19, 19', 20, 20', 21, 21', 22) which limits a curvature of the flat link chain in a direction of curvature about the joint.
