LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which the occurrence of disconnection of an ITO on a contact part is suppressed.

SOLUTION: A banked layer 7 is formed between an array substrate 1 and a source signal line 2, and a region of a part or all of a peripheral part of the banked layer 7 is formed so as to be swelled out of the edge part of the source signal line 2. A swelled-out part 7a where the banked layer 7 is swelled out of the edge part of the source signal line 2 has a surface which is moderately inclined. By forming the banked layer 7 between the source signal line 2 and the array substrate 1, the deterioration of step coverage of a protective film 3 caused by a reverse-tapered hollow on a side surface of the source signal line 2 is suppressed. Because the ITO 4 is formed on the protective film 3 having favorable step coverage, the occurrence of disconnection of the ITO 4 in the neighborhood of the peripheral part of the source signal line 2 can be suppressed.
