PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve stiffness difference in the bead section of a pneumatic tire, and to improve durability of the bead section by surely locking the end of a carcass ply by a bead core. SOLUTION: The end of the carcass ply 20 is locked by being sandwiched from both sides with bead wires 31, 32 extended in the tire circumferential direction of the bead core 30. The bead core 30 is formed of the bead wires 31, 32 with different diameters, A plurality of the bead wires 31 with large diameters and the bead wires 32 with small diameters are arranged alternately along both sides of the carcass ply 20 respectively, and arranged to be opposed alternately between both sides of the carcass ply 20 having the carcass ply 20 sandwiched therebetween. In the bead core 30, the end of the carcass ply 20 is sandwiched with these plurality of bead wires 31, 32 and bent to the sides of the small-diameter bead wires 32 opposed to the large-diameter bead wires 31, and thus, engaged in a zigzag form to be locked.
