PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition which is suitable as a dental composition, and comprises a polymerizable monomer having at least one acidic group selected from the group consisting of a phosphoric acid group, pyrophosphoric acid group, thiophosphoric acid group, phosphonic acid group and carboxylic acid group, a multifunctional polymerizable monomer having two or more polymerizable groups and two or more primary hydroxy groups, and water. SOLUTION: This composition comprising a polymerizable monomer (a) having at least one acidic group selected from the group consisting of a phosphoric acid group, pyrophosphoric acid group, thiophosphoric acid group, phosphonic acid group and carboxylic acid group, a polymerizable monomer (b) having two or more polymerizable groups and two or more primary hydroxy groups, and (c) water, is characterized in that the polymerizable monomer (a), the polymerizable monomer (b) and the water (c) are contained in amounts of 2 to 98 pts.wt., 2 to 98 pts.wt. and 1 to 2,000 pts.wt, respectively, per 100 pts.wt. of the total amount of the polymerizable monomer components.
