A method for establishing communication between two or more mobile communication device users is disclosed. Data comprising personal profile information of each of a plurality of mobile communication device users is stored. Locations of the mobile communication devices are monitored. When two or more mobile communication devices are determined to be in close proximity, the personal profile information for the two or more mobile communication device users is compared. An alert is transmitted to one or more of the mobile communication devices when the comparison indicates a match between personal profile information of the associated mobile communication device users. The alert indicates to a user of the mobile communication device about the proximity of a mobile communication device user with matching profile information.
