A portable fingerprint recognition and identification apparatus and a method thereof by using the same are provided to prevent recognition rate from being deteriorated according to deformation of a fingerprint and to be used in various fields like door-to-door sales or education. A portable fingerprint recognition and identification apparatus includes a fingerprint recognition unit(120), a memory(130), a controller(110), an LCD panel(140) and a communication interface unit(160). The fingerprint recognition unit enables a user to input rotary fingerprint or flat fingerprint. The memory stores preregistered fingerprint data in a template type. The controller extracts feature point vectors from the fingerprint inputted by the fingerprint recognition unit, and checks whether there exists fingerprint data in the memory wherein the fingerprint data has similarity with the feature point vector which is more than the first threshold. The LCD panel displays a check result of the controller. The communication interface unit transmits the check result of the controller to a management server via a wireless communication network. |
