Provided is a linear motor actuator which generates sufficient thrust force and retaining force and is remarkably smaller than conventional linear motor actuators. The linear motor actuator is provided with a base member (1) formed in channel-shape with a bottom plate (10) and a pair of side walls (11); a track rail (2) arranged on the bottom plate, along the longitudinal direction of the base member; a slide table (3) moving along the track rail; a stator magnet (40) arranged on the inner side plane of each side wall of the base member; and a pair of coil members (41), which are mounted on the slide table and constitute a linear motor (4) by facing the stator magnet arranged on each side wall of the base member.
