PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch for an automatic transmission wherein contact failure between a movable side contact and a stationary side contact is not easily caused. SOLUTION: The stationary side contact 10 is provided in a stationary member 2 fixed to the vehicle body of an automobile. In a movable member 5 movably supported by the stationary member 2 disposed face to face with the stationary side contact 10, the movable side contact 11 is provided on the surface facing the stationary member 2. The movable side contact 11 intermittently has portions making contact with the stationary side contact 10 along the moving direction of the movable member 5. The movable member 5 is connected to the automatic transmission and rotationally moves in accordance with the switching operation of a shift lever, and thereby the stationary side contact 10 is brought into contact with and separated from the movable side contact 11. The movable side contact 11 is positioned and fixed to the movable member 5, and a coil spring 17 to energize the stationary side contact 10 against the movable side contact 11 is provided in the stationary member 2.
