<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which can control an increase of a battery temperature, and to provide a binder used for the battery. <P>SOLUTION: The binder for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is made from a co-polymer having a hydrofluorocarbon species unit and an oxy-methylene unit represented by formula (1).
