PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head separation type camera which is unnecessary to readjust black balance even when the combination of a camera head, a camera cable and a camera control unit is changed. SOLUTION: The camera head 2 of the head separation type camera 1 is provided with: an adjustment value storage part 9 for storing the adjustment values OBR, OBG and OBB of the black balance for each of three imaging elements 5; and a black balance adjustment circuit 8 for adjusting the black balance so hat the black levels of respective video signals become an almost same level on the basis of the adjustment values OBR, OBG and OBB of the black balance. The respective video signals, readjusted in the black balance by the black balance adjustment circuit 8, are transmitted from the camera head 2 to the camera control unit 3.
