PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for profile-controlling a weld line, which realize excellent weld quality without deterioration of profiling accuracy even in a high-frequency region where the oscillation frequency of an oscillation torch is≥5 Hz. SOLUTION: In a controller 1, a CPU 43 of an arc profiling controller 40 forms a welding current waveform based on detection signals of a welding current, calculates a period of oscillation motion based on left/right oscillation signals, and forms a triangle waveform based on the period. The CPU 43 synchronizes the triangle waveform to the welding current waveform based on delay time and associates the welding current waveform and the triangle waveform after the synchronization. Out of the whole oscillation length of the oscillation motion, the CPU 43 obtains the integral of the welding current in oscillation in the right direction and that in the left direction, calculates the difference between both integrals, and calculates, based on the difference, a profiling correction amount for profiling the weld line. The controller 1 conducts profiling operation of an oscillation torch 100 based on the profiling correction amount. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
