The invention relates to a structural design for a metallurgical steel making reactor which makes it possible to increase the coefficient of thermal efficiency of the reactor, to reduce losses of heat emitted to the atmosphere by a spout metal stream due to the possibility of carrying out continuous and periodical steel tapping. The inventive metallurgical steel making reactor comprises a steel tapping device, the steel-tapping hole of which is located inside a smelting chamber at the lowest point of a bottom near the external wall thereof.
