An arrangement for operating a converter comprising a plurality of electronic switches (e.g. IGBTs) 4a, 4b which are repeatedly switched on and off, a switch control unit 3b associated with each electronic switch and a converter control device (5, fig. 1). At least one of the switch control units includes a voltage measurement device 14, 15, 16 to measure the voltage across the associated switch. The voltage measurement device is connected to the converter control device via a signal conversion unit 13 and via a signal line 7b. The converter may be dc to ac converter or vice versa. |
