PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system confirming an operation state of remotely controlled equipment and a remote control result in one-way communication with the remotely controlled equipment when controlling a household electrical appliance. SOLUTION: The remote control system is provided with: an infrared LED 5 as a remote signal transmission means for transmitting a remote control signal for operating the remotely controlled equipment 9; a camera 6 as a photography means for photographing the inside of a room; and a control microcomputer 2 which is equipped with an operation check means 2a for checking the operation state of the remotely controlled equipment 9 on the basis of a comparison result from an image comparison circuit 8 that functions as a light emission part detecting means so as to detect the remotely controlled equipment 9 or a light emission part around the equipment from video data photographed by the camera 6, to check operation/stop, an operating mode, or the like of the remotely controlled equipment 9.
