PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feedforward amplifier capable of reducing the entire power consumption of a power amplifier and improving efficiency by operating with optimum efficiency to a change in an operating environment. SOLUTION: A feedforward distortion compensation amplifier has a distortion detection system and a distortion elimination system. The distortion detection system branches an input signal, amplifies one input signal by a main amplifier, branches a main amplifier output signal and extracts a distortion component signal generated by the main amplifier by synthesizing the branched main amplifier output signal with the other branched input signal with the same power and a reverse phase. The distortion elimination system obtains an amplifier output signal obtained by eliminating a distortion component generated by the main amplifier by synthesizing the distortion component signal output from the distortion detection system with the main amplifier output signal with the same power and a reverse phase. In the feedforward distortion compensation amplifier, the feedforward amplifier detects the power of the extracted distortion component signal by a detector and controls the operating voltage of the main amplifier so as to make the detected distortion component power be a distortion component amount that can be compensated by the distortion elimination system.
