<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an encapsulated substance, having a high designing freedom in its particle diameter. <P>SOLUTION: This encapsulated substance of which the core substance is coated with a wall component consisting mainly of a polymer is produced through the following process 1, process 2a, process 3a and process 4a. The process 1: A process of adding an ionic polymerizable surfactant A and/or an ionic monomer to an aqueous solvent containing the core substance and mixing. The process 2a: A process of mixing a hydrophobic monomer to the mixed liquid passed through the process 1 and mixing. The process 3a: A process of adding an ionic polymerizable surfactant B to the mixed liquid passed through the process 2a so that the concentration of the ionic polymerizable surfactant B in the final mixed liquid obtained by the process 3a finally becomes a critical micelle concentration of the ionic polymerizable surfactant B based on the water content in the final mixed liquid and mixing.
