<p>A communication apparatus that allows different information to be transmitted to respective traffic lanes in communication between the road and vehicles and that allows a precise positional orientation to be performed on the vehicle side. A communication apparatus (10), which is disposed on the road side and transmits information to a plurality of traffic lanes, comprises a plurality of transmitting means (12) each of which transmits information to a respective one of the plurality of traffic lanes; and a control means (11) that causes the plurality of transmitting means (12) to transmit common information to the respective ones of all of the traffic lanes at the same time and that, while the common information not being transmitted at the same time, causes one of the plurality of transmitting means (12) which is associated with a particular one of the traffic lanes to transmit particular traffic lane information the contents of which is directed to that particular traffic lane, while causing those ones of the plurality of transmitting means (12) which are associated with the traffic lanes adjacent to the particular one to stop their information transmission. The common information transmitted at the same time includes not only information the contents of which are common to all of the traffic lanes but also at least a part of the particular traffic lane information in which the traffic lane can be identified.</p> |
