<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a vehicle automatic transmission for actualizing smooth drive on a downhill road and shifting operation as intended by a driver. <P>SOLUTION: The control device for the vehicle automatic transmission has an operated condition detecting means for detecting the operated condition of a vehicle including at least a vehicle speed and an engine load, a gradient detecting means for detecting the gradient of a travelling road, and a shift property detecting means for selecting one of a plurality of shift properties preset in accordance with the gradient. It comprises an acceleration/deceleration calculating means for finding acceleration/deceleration from a degree of increasing/reducing a vehicle speed per unit time, a deceleration shift property for determining a shift stage in accordance with the deceleration and the vehicle speed, and a brake detecting means for detecting the operation of a brake. When the gradient detecting means determines a downhill road and the brake detecting means detects the operation of the brake, the selected shift property is changed into the deceleration shift property and the shift stage is determined in accordance with the deceleration shift property. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
