PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent torsion from occurring between a valve element and a valve seat and scraping from occurring between the valve element and a guide when a relief valve is assembled in the body, the relief valve comprising a body in which a storage hole with the annular valve seat at its inner end is formed, the guide secured to the body, the valve element guided by the guide and allowed to sit on the valve seat, and a spring installed between the valve element and the guide in a retracted state and secured to the body while the guide compresses the spring when the guide is secured to the body. SOLUTION: A guide tube part 91a fitted by a predetermined guide distance into the storage hole 96 by the time when the fixing of the guide 91 to the body 16 is completed is integrally formed in the guide 91. The guide distance is formed of a no-load guide district in which the spring force of the spring 93 does not act on the valve seat 95 through the valve element 92 and a loaded-guide district in which the spring force of the spring 93 acts on the valve seat 95 through the valve element 92.
