A reference clock recovery apparatus and a method thereof are provided to regenerate normally audio and video data when an error is detected from a received reference clock value. A reference clock recovery apparatus includes a system decoder(220) and a control unit(250). The system decoder transmits an interrupt and a reference clock value to indicate a receiving state of a packet including reference clock information. The control unit calculates a reference clock recovery value by using the interrupt and the reference clock value, and performs a reference clock recovery process according to a state of an error of the received reference clock value. A voltage controlled oscillator(270) generates a system clock frequency signal of a receiver according to the reference clock. An A/V decoder(260) decodes audio and video data by using the frequency signal of the voltage controlled oscillator. |
