An electric compressor is provided to enhance cooling efficiency for electronic components of an inverter assembly by directly cooling an electric heating plate of the inverter assembly, which comes in contact with refrigerant through a cooling hole. An electric compressor comprises an electric motor, a motor room, an inverter assembly and an inverter accommodating room(101). The inverter assembly includes a substrate(112) having an electronic circuit, electronic components(114,116,124,125) connected to the substrate, and a base(110) of supporting the substrate. A housing(24) is interposed between the motor room and the inverter accommodating room. A through hole(130) is formed on the housing from the motor room to the inverter accommodation room, and has a first end connected to the base. The motor room and the inverter accommodation room are sealed around the through hole.
