PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surfactant composition having the ability to suspend components. SOLUTION: The surfactant composition is a water-based free-flowing surfactant composition comprising (a) at least one anionic surfactant, (b) at least one alkanolamide, (c) at least one electrolyte, and (d) water. In the composition, the components (a), (b) and (c) exist in such combination amounts that the composition has free-flowing non-Newtonian shear thinning characteristics and stable viscosity under at least one freeze/thaw cycle, and the composition has ability to suspend these components.
