PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulating container capable of enhancing the rigidity of a peripheral wall part while suppressing any increase in the weight of a covering member formed of a paper as a raw material. SOLUTION: The heat insulating container 1 comprises a container body 2 having a barrel part 21 and a cylindrical outer cylinder 3. The container body 2 is assembled to the outer cylinder 3 so as to cover an outer peripheral surface of the barrel part 21 by the outer cylinder 3 and to form a space between the barrel part 21 and the outer cylinder 3. The outer cylinder 3 is formed of a raw paper 3" as a raw material having the paper grain PG which is the flow direction of pulp fibers, and constituted in a cylindrical shape by affixing one end part 3c and the other end part 3c of a blank 3' having a predetermined contour to each other.
