The present invention relates to a process for producing lightweight, homogenous rock particles, in which exclusively cement and one or more industrial by-products selected from among incineration slags and ashes and milled rock are firstly premixed dry, reaction water and one or more additives are then added to and mixed with the resulting dry premix and the mixture is subsequently mixed and granulated to form the lightweight rock particles. In another process, fibres are firstly coated with inorganic crystals and lightweight rock particles are produced from the resulting fibres together with cement, the one or more industrial by-products, reaction water and one or more additives. In a further process for producing lightweight rock particles, cement, hydrated lime, silicon oxide and/or aluminium oxide particles and optionally one or more industrial by-products selected from among incineration slags and ashes and milled rock are firstly premixed dry and reaction water and one or more additives are subsequently added and the resulting reaction mixture is mixed with incorporation of air, exclusively by means of stirring, until a foamy mineral slurry is formed. The resulting mineral slurry is then cured in a mould to give a mineral foam block and, after removal from the mould, is comminuted to give lightweight rock particles. The present invention also relates to lightweight rock particles which can be obtained by these processes and are very suitable for the production of building materials, in particular lightweight concrete, lightweight mortar, lightweight plaster or render, etc. |
