PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently retrieve required data from among a large quantity of data. SOLUTION: A retrieval term file, a full text file and an item management file are stored in a storage device of a computer. A prescribed retrieval keyword is input and the full text data file is retrieved on the basis of the keyword. Then, the item management file is retrieved on the basis of the retrieved result and the contents of an item management record are displayed. Further, an itemized retrieval keyword and the retrieval keyword are input, the item management file is retrieved on the basis of the itemized retrieval keyword and the full text data file is retrieved on the basis of the retrieved result.
