PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery protection device capable of taking safety measures by monitoring the voltage of a secondary battery even in a charge stop state or in a discharge stop state, and furthermore, capable of taking the safety measures by comprehending the operation history or the like of the secondary battery even in external equipment. SOLUTION: The secondary battery protection device has an overcharge protection circuit 3 on which the secondary battery 1 and a protection device 2 for protecting the secondary battery are mounted and which stops the protection device 2 charging, an overdischarge protection circuit 4 which stops discharging, and an voltage monitor control circuit 5 which monitors charging and discharging voltages and which operates the overdischarge protection circuit 4, and is further equipped with a nonvolatile memory 6 and a communication circuit 7. The voltage monitor control circuit 5 is equipped with a means of detecting the voltage of the secondary battery 1 at prescribed time interval and recording detected voltage data in the nonvolatile memory 6 during operation of the overcharge protection circuit 3 or the overdischarge protection circuit 4. The communication circuit 7 has a communication signal terminal in order to transmit the read-out data to a reading circuit of the nonvolatile memory 6 and the external equipments.
