The invention relates to a communication interface for transmitting data/information between devices distributed by DPWS services based on WSDL description, and to a method for transmitting data/information between devices distributed by DPWS services based on a WSDL description via a communication interface. It is provided that the DPWS services have a generic, device-independent WSDL description for defining a generic message structure, wherein the WSDL description for the DPWS service is configured as a generic WSDL description, which defines an open/generic message structure of the communication interface.
