A mobile communication terminal and an operation method thereof are provided to register data on a schedule management menu immediately while a function of a message box or a phone book is used, thereby offering a user's convenience. A mobile communication terminal enters one of menus in a phone book or a message box(S300). If one of data stored in the message box or the phone book is selected, the terminal outputs a menu which includes a schedule adding menu(S310-S330). The schedule adding menu is selected, and schedule for the selected data is registered in a schedule management menu(S340,S350). A message written through a message writing window is transmitted according to schedule data of the schedule.
