<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress increase in the temperature of a liquid crystal panel, a polarizing plate or a display device. <P>SOLUTION: The shape of dust-resistant glass 41a and 41b of the liquid crystal panel is made into a rectangular shape, in which the long side is set as the short side of the effective pixel region of the TFT substrate 23, to make the surface area increase.
