METHOD FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE DURING THE OPERATION OF A PAPER HANDLING SYSTEM

A paper handling system is used to produce groups of goods, each group comprising a plurality of goods. The paper handling system comprises at least one inlet channel (202, 204) for receiving the goods, a section (200) for producing groups of the received goods, a selection station (210) for selecting a produced group, a detector (214) which detects pre-defined features of the goods of a selected group, and a control system (218). The control system (218) is effective for determining whether a pre-defined event has occurred, in order to control the selection station (210), in order to control a group in the event that the pre-defined event has occurred, in order to determine whether information has been obtained from the detector (214) during a pre-determined interval, in order to stop the paper handling system in the event that no information has been obtained by the detector (214) during the pre-defined interval, and in order to stop the paper handling system in the event that information showing that the selected group does not meet at least one pre-determined criterion has been obtained from the detector (214) during the pre-defined interval.
