PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate-like member and an assembly, which are capable of improving degree of freedom in design without making a component for linkage be conspicuous, while securing desired strength. SOLUTION: A plurality of horizontal materials 2, each of which is composed of a first decorative member 4 with a hollow part formed along the longitudinal direction and a first reinforcing member 5 arranged in the hollow part of the first decorative member 4, are connected so that they are arranged in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the horizontal materials 2. The connection is carried out using first rods 7 penetrating second horizontal materials 2b and also being put through first horizontal materials 2a at both end parts, nuts 9 attached to the end parts of the first rods 7; and first tubular spacers 8 supported in a movable state in a rod axial direction relative to the outer periphery of the first rods 7 and arranged between the adjacent horizontal materials 2.
