PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoxy composition capable of minimizing difficulties associated with formulation and designing of an end-use product, e.g. a paint, a composite material, a floor finish agent and an adhesive, using an amine hardener having a molecular weight, an amine hydrogen functional group and a chemical structure similar to those of TETA. SOLUTION: The epoxy resin contains a contact product of a filler, an epoxy resin and an amine component, provided that the amine component contains a mixture of mono-, di-, tri- and tetra-substituted amines of formula (1) (wherein R<SB>1</SB>is CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>NH<SB>2</SB>; R<SB>2</SB>, R<SB>3</SB>and R<SB>4</SB>are each independently H or CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>NH<SB>2</SB>; and X is CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>or CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>).
