PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear actuator that can enhance its efficiency through a simple configuration. SOLUTION: A linear actuator includes a stator 2, a rotor 3 reciprocally supported by the stator 2, coils 11a, 11b that generate magnetic fluxes for reciprocating the rotor 3, a thrust generating portion 13 provided in the middle of the reciprocal direction of the stator 2 and the rotor 3, and generating thrust of the reciprocal direction on the rotor 3, and suction force generating portions 12a, 12b provided at least one of the both ends of the reciprocal direction of the stator 2 and the rotor, and generating a suction force for suctioning the rotor in the reciprocal direction.
