摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improved interlayers for obtaining granular perpendicular magnetic recording media with the proper structure. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a rhenium (Re)-based alloy material, comprising >50 at.% rhenium (Re) and at least one alloying material selected from the group consisting of: grain size refinement elements X which have an atomic radius larger or smaller than that of rhenium (Re) and a solid solubility <6 at.% in hcp rhenium (Re) at a room temperature or higher; and lattice matching elements Y which have an atomic radius larger or smaller than that of rhenium (Re) and form a solid solution in hcp rhenium (Re) at room or higher temperatures.
