A method and a system for determining whether the access point exits in the broadcast/multicast buffered frame. The method includes: when receiving the broadcast/multicast frame sent by the server network and/or the multicast group, the access point setting the broadcast/multicast indicator bit corresponding to the server network and/or the multicast group as valid state, sending the frame carrying the broadcast/multicast indicator bit to the terminal device, the terminal device determining whether the access point exists in the broadcast/multicast buffered frame according to the server network and/or the multicast group associated with itself and the received broadcast/multicast indicator bit. An access point and a terminal device are also disclosed.
