Photochromic material comprises a photochromic layer formed by three-dimensional radical polymerization between two polycarbonate layers. Independent claims are also included for: (1) producing a photochromic material by mixing liquid acrylic compounds with an organic photochromic compound, adding a photoinitiator, applying the mixture to the surface of a polycarbonate layer delimited by spacers of predetermined thickness, placing another polycarbonate layer on the mixture, clamping the resulting assembly and curing the mixture with heat or light; (2) producing a protective layer on a polycarbonate layer by curing a mixture of isophorone urethane diacrylate and trimethylolpropane triacrylate by UV irradiation in the presence of a photoinitiator.
