PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal digital assistant for efficiently inputting a plurality of types of characters. SOLUTION: The personal digital assistant 1 is provided with: a display 4; a storage part 32 for storing a plurality of array tables for displaying the list of characters for every type of character; an operation part 17 for enabling a user to operate; and a control part 30 for making the display 4 display the array tables, and for controlling the input processing of characters. The control part 30 instructs a display driver part 34 to make the display 4 display a palette read from a pictorial character/sign palette information 32a or alphanumeric palette information 32b according to an instruction from the user through the operation part 17.
