The press (1) has a plunger (5) supporting a movable tool part (6), where a servomotor (3) drives the plunger. A representation module establishes a predetermined movement strategy of the plunger by using an image screen (9) of a control arrangement (8). An input module provides points for defining a movement strategy of the plunger. A calculation module calculates control signals required for achieving a desired movement strategy of the plunger and for representing the movement strategy on the screen. An output module processes data for actual control of the servomotor. An independent claim is also included for a method for establishing a movement strategy for a plunger of a press, particularly a drawing press.
