A tool for holding an optical sheet for liquid crystal displays having a simple structure, produced at low cost, and enabling easy assembly/disassembly of the display. The tool comprises a first holding piece (21) having a first holding part (211) adapted to hold an optical sheet (13) for liquid crystal displays and made of a soft material, a second holding piece (22) having a second holding part (221) opposed to the first holding part, adapted to hold the optical sheet in cooperation with the first holding part between the first and second holding parts, and made of a soft material, a clamping section (24) for clamping the first and second holding parts in a state that the optical sheet is held between them, a fixing section (24) for holding/fixing the first and second holding pieces to a chassis (1) of the liquid crystal display, and a bearing section (23) provided to at least one of the first and second holding pieces and serving as a bearing for holding the optical sheet.
