A refrigerator is provided to control the height of a shelf freely without separating the same from the refrigerator by lifting or lowering the shelf by a lifting element which forms the shelf partially. A refrigerator includes a shelf element(10), a lifting element(20) mounted to a surface of the shelf element for lifting the shelf element in connection with a wall surface of a refrigerating or freezing compartment and having a lever, and a position setting element(16) for setting the height of the shelf in association with the lifting element, wherein the lever forms a part of the shelf element. |
